The RIS III uses a six-bolt (three on each side) lockup system that attaches the rail to the barrel nut. Four more screws (two on each side) attach the lower half of the rail to the upper half. This allows for the removal of the bottom half of the rail in order to attach the M203 grenade launcher.

Later this year the RIS III rail will be available at 9.5 inches for a 10.3 barrel, 10.5 for an 11.5 barrel, 12.5 for an M4 or M16 profile barrel with a low profile gas block, and a 13.0-inch rail that accommodates a front sight post. For clarity in distinction, the Daniel Defense RIS III refers to the rail, and the RIII refers to new Rifles.

RIS II is forever my favorite, but how you have that RIS III set up is sick. RIS II, but mostly since the 3 is only like 2 ounces lighter. Might as well stick with the aesthetics in that case lol. I was honestly surprised at how little the weight difference is.
